- THE WILL OF FRANCIS COATES
Membrane 5. Feb. 28, 1654-5. Sept 18, 1654.
I Francis Coates of the parish of Fewston, yeoman, &c. As touching that half land which I now dwell on, my will is that my wife shall enjoy it for her life, according to the custom of the Forrest, and she shall have all the stocke, quick and dead, which I now enjoy the same with. And what monyes I have owing, I will my sone have itt, so he putt in suffitient securitie to pay the yearely use theirof to his mother, during her lyfe, and the stocke to his children after her death, which he now hath of shall have, and I give him the benefitt of the farme he now lives on. I appoynt Anne Coates, my Sonne daughter, sole executrix of this my will, and I give my wife what William Thackurey owes me,
