Euphemia states that Everet, Ervin, and Chalin have nominated her as their guardian and they have $363.20 in hand, it being the entire estate of saidwards. She asks to be appointed guardian of Dorothy and Robert, adding she is the mother of the minors. That the minors have no father living or other legal guardian residing in the State.

Euphemia SUMMERS MOSS, daughter of Harriet IRVIN and Jasper SUMMERS, was born in Franklin County, IL. near Akin on 16 Aug. 1868 and died 4 Jan. 1930(sic 1939 jm). She was wed to Frank Love MOSS 28 May 1883 and lived a happy married life
until death called her companion home on 22 Nov. 1901. She has experienced many hardships in this life, being left a widow when the youngest of eight children was only 13 months old. The children all reached maturity and seven are still
living. The oldest child died 25 Nov. 1910 at the age of 25. Surviving children are: Elmer, Stella (wife of Bennie JOHNSON), Everett, Ervin and Chalin, all of Benton; Dorothy (wife of George GUINEY) of Princeton, Ind., and Logan, also of this city. Euphemia was the last of a large family. Two sisters, Mrs. Martha KARR and Mrs. Scillar HICKS and three half-brothers, Robert and John DUCKWORTH, and Orr SUMMERS, and one half-sister, Mrs. Grace FRAILEY, preceded her in death.
She was converted at a brush-arbor meeting in the woods, near Bethel Church, at an early age.
