  Notes	There were no roads in Gibson County,Tennessee, when Squire Boren Young [a son of Mary Boren Young/Boren and her first husband Jacob Young; grandson of Bazel Boren; named after Squire Boone who was the father of Daniel Boone] arrived there in the early to mid-1820's. The court gave jury duty on a fairly regular basis, and also the county officials gave out the responsibility of building new roads. Squire Young and his stepfather Willis Boren were given the responsibility to mark out how one of the new roads should be built. They were to scout out the area and decide which direction the new road should go, according to the way the land lay. The "scouts" would then mark the way by marking trees by cutting chunks out of the bark with an ax or hatchet. Another way to mark the road would be to stack rocks up to show the way. Then workmen with horses, axes, shovels, and picks would move along the path. The workmen would remove trees, rocks, and other obstacles. They would also build bridges over the creeks. (FHL book 976.823 P2w, Gibson Co Tenn Court Minutes page 87): "Ordered that the following be a Jury of View to mark a road from the highland where the Dresden and Huntingdon Road fork to the county line in a direction of Paris, to wit: Elijah Billingsley Jr, Squire Young, Willis Brown [Boren], B. Baker, John Murphy, David L.
