  One of Kate Dorman's daughter married Dr. Powhattan Jordan, a former Confederate surgeon and a pioneer Beaumont physician. http://www.wtblock.com/wtblockjr/catherin.htm note: This daughter by McGill was supposedly older than her sister Laura. Kate was 17 when Laura was born and the only child shown in 1860 census with Kate and 2nd husband Dorman. Powhattan Jordan was mustered in San Antonio in Oct 1859 and his biography states he married twice, 1st to Jessie Alberta Edwards in 1864 and 2nd, to Mary Ada Hoskins in 1881. unknown what documentation supports that Kate McGill had another daughter who married Pawhattan Jordan.
