  Notes	George Helm was a member of the KY Legislature and a holder of many public offices. In 1814, he served on the staff of Gen. John Thomas who commanded Kentucky troops at the Battle of New Orleans. He died on a business trip to Texas. He was father of John LaRue Helm former governor of KY. His other children were: Elizabeth C., Dr. William Duvall, Rev. Squire LaRue, Lucretia Sneed, Mary Jane, Louisa S., Malvina, and Thomas Pope Helm.
