- Brown Lee Thomas, 83, of Crossville, passed away March 15, 2000. Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in Akins Cemetery. Wayne Matthews will officiate. Mr. Thomas was born Aug. 30, 1916 in Winesap, TN. He was an equipment operator for the State of Tennessee. Survivors include his wife, Verna D. Thomas of Crossville; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Carmen Thomas of Hendersonville, TN; brothers, Litton Thomas of Mountain Home, ID, Floyd Thomas of San Antonio, TX, and Victor Thomas of Medina, OH; sister, Minnie Simmons of Crossville; grandchildren, Amy and Bryan Thomas of Hendersonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Earl Barbara, Dexter Selby, Aaron Burgess, Wayne Jernigan, Gene Burgess, Wayne Burgess, Shelton Simmons and Lowell Simmons.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
